Q. What is your favorite Hogwarts School's Subject?

A. My favorite subject is Divination! I love this class. I always hope that I would be good in this class. I love how they read cards, crystal balls, ruins. I would've really loved it if I was taught by a centaur too. Some students like Hermione thought the class was a joke. I always picture in my mind what Firenze's classroom would look like. How it seems like you are in a forest looking up at the sky. NEAT!!

 I would not want to be like Professor Trelawney though.. who only has one prophesy and then the rest of her life is a joke when it comes to divination.   I always feel bad for her.

Harry Potter Moment of the Week- Favorite Triwizard Task!

Q. Favorite Triwizard Tournament Task

A.  My favorite task was the one with the egg puzzle and then going in the water to save the competitors friends. I love the idea of the egg and figuring out how to open it.  This introduced us to the prefect's bathroom.  I love the description of it in the book.  With the different fountains that produce different color bubbles.  I just love it!

 

We get to hear the mermaids sing... and of course there is the creepy scene with Moaning Myrtle and Harry in the bathtub!  This challenge was really funny in the movie to me.  I like how they involved Neville and he says "I've killed Harry Potter!"  I love that line.

Harry Potter Moment of the Week- I want to be in Quidditch!

Q. I want to be a ______ in Quidditch, and why?

A.  Well to be honest I have never been much of a sports girl.  I just don't have fun running around (flying around) and trying to do things. So I would want to be in the audience!  That's right.  I am a huge sports fan so I would be the perfect fan in the audience.  I would yell, cheer, wear my team's colors. 

I mean... who wouldn't want to wear Luna's hat to a game?  I am a big football fan and love going to the games so I would be right at home at a Quidditch match.

Q.What is your favorite creature from the series?

A.  Oh wow! I have to pick the ghosts (I hope those are creatures).  I always loved reading about the ghosts in the books.  Why they were ghosts.. and who were the school ghosts. the ghosts are silvery and translucent. The ghosts have rotten food on their tables that the flow through to eat.

Some ghosts include: Nearlyheadless Nick, the Bloody Baron, The Gray Lady, Professor Binns, The Fat Friar, Moaning Myrtle, and of course Peeves (but he is a poltergeist).  I was always disappointed Peeves does not end up in the films. That would've been great.  I find it interesting when Harry goes in search of Nearlyheadless Nick to find out if Sirius will come back as a ghost.  Nearlyheadless Nick knew Harry would come to find him to ask that question, and he must tell him that Sirius will not become a ghost (so sad!!).

I love the image from Pottermore of the Death Day party!  I would've love to have gone to this party.

Harry Potter Moment of the Week- Owls! Owls! Owls!

Q. This weeks question is a freebee so I am going to talk about the owls of the Wizarding World.

 A. I love the idea of having owls as pets. First off I love owls. They are such magnificent animals!  Then I read the Harry Potter books and they bring these birds to a whole other level.  Pets who understand what you say, fly around and get your mail, I love it!  The Ministry of Magic formerly used owls for interdepartmental memos, but switched to enchanted paper airplanes because owls made too much mess with their droppings and shed feathers.

One of my favorite owls is Ron's owl Pig!  So cute.  Of course also Hermes and Errol!  Can't forget those owls!

Would you pick an owl for your pet at Hogwarts?  Or would you pick a cat or toad?  I did pick a cat at Pottermore myself. Poor beautiful Headwig.. what an amazing owl.  I love how Harry grew up with him.  The snowy owl's lifespan in captivity is 28 years so this owl could've lived a very long time.

Q. Best odd thing/incident/person from Harry Potter

 A. One of my favorite odd things in Harry Potter books and movies is the Knight Bus. I think this is a clever way of getting transportation. Though it seems like it would be extremely uncomfortable to ride on. It's a triple decker bus. It is very very fast.

Objects simply just jump out of the way when the bus is coming. The decor on the bus changes from day to night. In the nighttime the bus has beds and candles. In the daytime the bus is full of seats that move around when the bus stops and goes. I am not even sure if I would want to ride on the Knight Bus to be honest!!!

Harry Potter Moment of the Week... Dumbledore's Army or the Inquisitorial Squad???

Q. Dumbledore's Army or the Inquisitorial Squad, which would you chose?

A. I love evil things. Typically I might actually pick the Inquisitorial Squad... but I have issues with Dolores Umbridge.  There is no way I could have her telling me what to do.  Now if Snape were the head of the Inquisitorial Squad that would make things different ( I mean I am in Slytherin house according to Pottermore).  So I would choose Dumbledore's Army (DA).   I do like that they sneak around, and the coins used are even used later in the story from Nevile and Luna (though it's sad that they are so lonely that they keep looking at them long after DA is through).

 

I wish there was at least one Slytherin in the group.  I mean .. they can't all be bad right?  In the movie it seems that Cho Chang reveals Dumbledore's army to Umbridge but in the book it's her friend Marietta who end up with boils all over her face because of it.

Harry Potter Moment of the Week- Wizards Duel!

Q. Favorite Moment from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets?

A. There were several great moments in this movie.  I think one of the defining moments of the whole series happens when the students are practicing dueling.  First off Snape and Lockheart are so funny when they face off.  Then of course we have Draco and Harry dueling.

 

I think this is important for the relationship between Draco and Harry.  We see them face off in front of the school which I think now seals the rivalry between them.  Harry also reveals that he knows how to speak Parsaltounge and this will change how all students/teachers view Harry.  Harry also learns he has more in common with Voldermort then he originally thought.

Q. Favorite book from inside the books.

A. For me I love the idea of reading Rita Skeeter the Life and Lies of Albus Dumbledore.  I am dying to read this book.  I want to know all about Dumbledore.  Skeeter must've been doing research for this book for a long time because it was published in just 4 weeks after Dumbledore's death!

 

We would learn all about the juicy relationship between Dumbledore and Grendelward.  I want to know their love story!  I want to read about what Skeeter says about Potter and Dumbledore's relationship as well. I mean this book is like 900 pages long... what all could be in this book!!!

Harry Potter Moment of the Week- My favorite film!

Q.  Favorite Harry Potter film.

A. Wow.. I really don't know what film to pick. I always like Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I just love that we get a peak at other schools.  I just love the tournament too!  I really love the maze.  Though I wish the movie had shown the sphinx.  I also think that the style of the students is fabulous!  I love their hair and how they wear their uniforms.  I feel like this is really what students would look like.

 How cute are Fred and George in this film!!  I love them with long hair! And the ball!!  Quidditch games!  We get to see Voldermort finally!!  Everything in this movie is great! 

And did I mention the Prefect's bathroom???  I want to go in there!!!!!  Goblet of Fire is Epic!

Harry Potter Moment of the Week-Diagon Alley coming to US!

Q. Favorite moment in Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone?  I think my favorite part of this book is when we first see Diagon Alley!!  I wanted to really be there so bad.  I would just love the shops. 

I mean.. did you see today it was announced that they are adding Diagon Alley to Universal Studios in Florida?  I must make a trip back NOW I mean in 2014. I had so much fun when I went in 2010 when the park first opened and you better believe I will go back for this.  I mean 2014???  WHA??

Anyways.. back to Diagon Alley being my favorite part of the book.  This is where Harry sees what wizarding is all about.  Brooms to buy, robes, potion ingredients, familiars, and WANDS!  Who doesn't want to hang out in the Leaky Cauldron?   I would stay there all the time.

I can't stop thinking about Florida.....

Well ... that is my favorite part of the Sorcerer's Stone!!  Here is a glimpse of what it will look like!

Harry Potter Moment of the Week-Newspaper Time!

This weeks topic is: Favorite Newspaper in the Series? THE DAILY PROPHET! I know most people like the Quibbler. But whenever I think of the Quibbler I think of the National Inquire. A joke magazine. I know the Quibbler sounds neat in the books, but I think if I were to live in the Harry Potter world I would not like it. Now the Daily Prophet would be more up my alley.  I enjoy the black and white look.

 Of course it is full of bad journalists.  Which is quite sad.. I would think someone at the Daily Prophet wouldn't be paid off and would write the truth. I suppose it is similar to the news networks of today.

 

And how cute was it when the Weasley's were featured in the magazine??  I loved to see them in this picture.  I wish our newspapers moved and the words swirled around the pages.  That would be amazing!! 

It would be cool if Hogwarts had year books.. now that would be something to see!

This weeks topic is: What is your favorite house?
Well I must confess that I hadn't set my Pottermore account up till tonight.  I guess I just let all this time pass and never got around to it.  I am having so much fun.  I love Slytherin.... I always like the dark side of things.  But I was surprised Pottermore put me in that house!! I didn't pick things that were what seemed to be bad.. though I suppose that Slytherin isn't necessarily evil.

I was on Pottermore all night last night.  I can't believe I waited so long to join.  Though it only goes up to book 3 right now. How cool is the Bloody Baron???  Love him!!  Both Snape and Professor Slughorn are in this house!!!
