Favorite Fictional Character-Halloween edition!

Favorite Fictional Character is a meme started by Ryan at Wordsmithonia he started my Favorite Fictional Character posts out of love for some of the greatest characters ever dreamed up, some of which never get the recognition they deserve. They have all moved, inspired, taught, or in one way or another shaped his thought process and my taste. It's because of these characters that he loves to get lost in a good book, be enthralled by a movie or TV show, or be moved by a poem or song. They all mean something to him and from what he's seen he's not alone in that.

I visit Wordsmithsonia every Wednesday to see what fun new character pops up! My favorite time of year is Halloween!!  And Wordsmithsonia does a special for Halloween!!
This week I am going to pick the whole cast from It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!

When growing up in the 80's there used to be so many holiday specials on TV.  My sister and I had videos tapes of all the Halloween and Christmas specials.  It used to be sooo fun.  At least nowadays in the 2000s you can still see the Charlie Brown specials.

In the show... Linus believes in the Great Pumpkin the way most people believe in Santa Claus.  He writes the Great Pumpkin letters and waits for him in the pumpkin patch to come on Halloween night.  For those who have never seen the cartoon this is a major spoiler:  instead of the great pumpkin... Snoopy comes! Snoopy rises above the pumpkins!  It is one of the MOST hilarious moments in TV EVER!

One thing we can for sure learn though from Linus is dedication to faith.   He believes in something and just sticks to it.  He knows the Great Pumpkin will come.  The whole cast is fun... I could probably recite the whole show.  Love Violet's party, It premiered on TV in 1966... and it still shown every Halloween.

This is a FABULOUS show and everyone should watch it every year.  It has a special place in my heart!

Do you have a favorite Halloween character???
