Waiting on Wednesday - Infinite by Jodi Meadows

I am so excited for Infinite by Jodi Meadows.   But really the cover is revealed now and it's not going to be published till 2014!!  The torture!  The cover on this one is just as pretty as the other ones.. which is what drew me to the series to begin with.  Here is the description we have for this book:

DESTRUCTION
The Year of Souls begins with an earthquake—an alarming rumble from deep within the earth—and it’s only the first of greater dangers to come. The Range caldera is preparing to erupt. Ana knows that as Soul Night approaches, everything near Heart will be at risk.

FLIGHT
Ana’s exile is frightening, but it may also be fortuitous, especially if she can convince her friends to flee Heart and Range with her. They’ll go north, seeking answers and allies to stop Janan’s ascension. And with any luck, the newsouls will be safe from harm’s reach.

CHOICE
The oldsouls might have forgotten the choice they made to give themselves limitless lifetimes, but Ana knows the true cost of reincarnation. What she doesn’t know is whether she’ll have the chance to finish this one sweet life with Sam, especially if she returns to Heart to stop Janan once and for all.

With gorgeous romance and thrilling action, the final book in the Incarnate trilogy offers a brilliant conclusion to the compelling questions of this fascinating world, where one new girl is the key to the lives of millions.

Edit and I got a comment from Jodi!!!!!!!

Asunder by Jodi Meadows Review

As some of you know, I am on a mission to finish all the series I start.  I really enjoyed Incarnate ,the first book in the series , which I actually picked up based off the cover!  Here is the goodreads description of Asunder:

DARKSOULS Ana has always been the only one. Asunder. Apart. But after Templedark, when many residents of Heart were lost forever, some hold Ana responsible for the darksouls–and the newsouls who may be born in their place.
SHADOWS Many are afraid of Ana’s presence, a constant reminder of unstoppable changes and the unknown. When sylph begin behaving differently toward her and people turn violent, Ana must learn to stand up not only for herself but for those who cannot stand up for themselves.
LOVE Ana was told that nosouls can’t love. But newsouls? More than anything, she wants to live and love as an equal among the citizens of Heart, but even when Sam professes his deepest feelings, it seems impossible to overcome a lifetime of rejection.
In this second book in the Newsoul trilogy, Ana discovers the truth about reincarnation and will have to find a way to embrace love and make her young life meaningful. Once again, Jodi Meadows explores the extraordinary beauty and shadowed depths of the soul in a story equal parts epic romance and captivating fantasy.

This book takes place right where the last one left off. This is actually one of those middle books in a series that is good. I didn't feel like it was all filler. The romance between Sam and Ana is beautifully written.  I find it interesting that Sam thinks his relationship with Ana is inappropriate because even though they are both 19, Sam is actually 5,000 years old.  The villain in this book really surprised me! I guessed the wrong villain throughout the book and was kind of annoyed at how easy it was to figure out the villain. Then when the bad guy was revealed I was pleasantly happy!

The author Meadows does such a fantastic job of writing the scenery so well I can picture it perfectly in my mind. I enjoy that we are learning more and more about the sylph and yet they are still a mystery. I curious to learn about them and find out if they are people who have died. Most of this book took place in the city of Heart, but I think we might venture outside of it in the next book in order to gather some important information to stop Janan. Sometimes I would like to see more of the magical creatures we always read about other then the sylph. I want more dragons, trolls. The first book had such a crazy epic battle in it and this one was missing that. No big battles.. but I suppose that will be saved up for the next book.

As I read this book I am sad for the old souls who won't be coming back.  I wish there was a way to have new souls and be able to reincarnate people.  This book finally reveals why they are reincarnated and it still makes me sad that they are dying.  I love the story of old loves coming together for 5,000 years.  Having an amazing talent that you just keep making better generation after generation.

I can't wait for the third book in the series!!

I am giving this book 5 stars since it is a decent middle of a series book!

Sun is shinning!!!  Great day to go outside and read this book

Waiting on Wednesday (#12) Asunder

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly book meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine, where we have the chance to share what upcoming releases we are on the edge of our seats in anticipation for.

I am waiting on Asunder by Jodi Meadows.  I am excited to read book two in the Newsoul trilogy!!

Here is the description:

Incarnate by Jodi Meadows-Review

I have been wanting to read this book ever since I saw the cover for it.  Everyone was getting ARCs and I just kept seeing the cover all over the blogs!  Here is the goodreads description:

New soul
Ana is new. For thousands of years in Range, a million souls have been reincarnated over and over, keeping their memories and experiences from previous lifetimes. When Ana was born, another soul vanished, and no one knows why.
 No soul
Even Ana's own mother thinks she's a nosoul, an omen of worse things to come, and has kept her away from society. To escape her seclusion and learn whether she'll be reincarnated, Ana travels to the city of Heart, but its citizens are afraid of what her presence means. When dragons and sylph attack the city, is Ana to blame?
 Heart
Sam believes Ana's new soul is good and worthwhile. When he stands up for her, their relationship blooms. But can he love someone who may live only once, and will Ana's enemies—human and creature alike—let them be together? Ana needs to uncover the mistake that gave her someone else's life, but will her quest threaten the peace of Heart and destroy the promise of reincarnation for all? Jodi Meadows expertly weaves soul-deep romance, fantasy, and danger into an extraordinary tale of new life.

I really loved the ideas in this book... souls that had lived thousands of years.  Imagine knowing everyone that long and being such a tight-nit community.  Like a small town almost.

Possible spoilers:  I didn't always love the book though.  I read it in one day for my read-a-thon and wish it would've kept going.  I wonder though about the future books.  I have a feeling they are going to take place in the father future.  I think the new souls that are going to come are going to be grown into teenagers and that some of the people will be reincarnated to hunt down Ana.  That is just my guess anyways and you can't do that if the books starts up right away where it left off.

I love the spooky villains in the book and hope we learn more about them further on.  Where do the dragons come from and the sylths. I wish we could've learned more about the world's past.  BUT we spend most of the book with Ana and her love interest Sam.  They are always playing music and Ana is always untrustworthy of anyone.  So we have to sit around and read about all that. This whole book seemed to be about romance instead of the utopian environment.  Disappointing.  I hope that books later on going more into the world.

Then Ana enters the temple that we have been reading about in the whole book.  It was cool but then I was confused.  Nothing really was explained.  I want to read book 2 in the hopes that the author gets it right a little more!!!  It gets three stars because the ideas in the book were pretty neat.

My review on Asunder book 2.
